A 4-week handbuilding clay session
In this playful clay session, students will design and build small ceramic toad homes inspired by gardens, forests, and imaginative landscapes. Using slab-building techniques, learners will create shelters for tiny woodland creatures while exploring texture, form, and sculptural details.
Throughout the first three weeks of the session, students will learn foundational hand-building skills including rolling slabs, shaping structures 3D forms, and attaching clay pieces. They will experiment with natural textures and sculptural additions like mushrooms, leaves, doors, and pathways, allowing each toad house to develop its own personality.
During the final week, students will combine the techniques they have practiced to complete a finished toad home of their own design.

• Sculptural clay additions
• Creative design and storytelling through form
