A 4-week handbuilding clay session
In this imaginative clay session, students will transform simple pinch pots into expressive creatures, animals, or invented beings. This project encourages creativity and storytelling while introducing foundational ceramic hand-building techniques.
During the first three weeks of session, students will begin by forming pinch pots and then explore sculptural additions such as ears, tails, wings, and textured surfaces. As the session progresses, learners will develop their own creature designs and experiment with expressive details. During the final week, students will combine the techniques they have learned to complete a unique clay creature of their own creation.

In the first three weeks of session, students will learn how to roll clay slabs, construct cylindrical forms from flat pieces, and experiment with decorative techniques such as carving, texture impressions, and surface design. In the final week, learners will combine these skills to complete a handmade cup they can use at home.

A 4-week handbuilding clay session
In this playful clay session, students will design and build small ceramic toad homes inspired by gardens, forests, and imaginative landscapes. Using slab-building techniques, learners will create shelters for tiny woodland creatures while exploring texture, form, and sculptural details.
Throughout the first three weeks of the session, students will learn foundational hand-building skills including rolling slabs, shaping structures 3D forms, and attaching clay pieces. They will experiment with natural textures and sculptural additions like mushrooms, leaves, doors, and pathways, allowing each toad house to develop its own personality.
During the final week, students will combine the techniques they have practiced to complete a finished toad home of their own design.
