A 4-week handbuilding clay session
In this imaginative clay session, students will transform simple pinch pots into expressive creatures, animals, or invented beings. This project encourages creativity and storytelling while introducing foundational ceramic hand-building techniques.
During the first three weeks of session, students will begin by forming pinch pots and then explore sculptural additions such as ears, tails, wings, and textured surfaces. As the session progresses, learners will develop their own creature designs and experiment with expressive details. During the final week, students will combine the techniques they have learned to complete a unique clay creature of their own creation.
• Pinch pot construction
• Sculptural clay additions
• Texture and expressive surface details
• Creative character design
Length: 4 weeks
Class time: 90 minutes per class
Class size: Limited to 10 students
Age guidance: Mixed-age learners welcome
Medium: Hand-built ceramics
Clay pieces will be fired in a kiln after the session. Finished artwork will be available for pickup approximately 2–3 weeks after the final class.
